TIAFT Prepares for 56th Annual Meeting in Belgium

Toxicologist Dr. Barry Logan earned a PhD in forensic toxicology from the University of Glasgow in Scotland. An internationally recognized expert in his field, he oversees the Center for Forensic Science Research and Education while serving as senior vice president of forensic science initiatives at NMS Labs in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. As a toxicologist, Dr. Barry Logan has maintained memberships in several professional organizations, including the International Association of Forensic Toxicologists (TIAFT).

TIAFT is planning the 56th TIAFT Annual Meeting, which will take place August 26-30, 2018, in Ghent, Belgium. Each year, TIAFT members from around the globe attend the TIAFT Annual Meeting to hear from world-renowned experts presenting the latest research in the field of toxicology. The event also includes a variety of social activities conducive to networking.
This year’s conference will explore the theme Addictive Days and Toxic Nights through a scientific program featuring keynotes, poster presentations, and analytical learning sessions. Topics covered will include sampling techniques, doping, and drugs and driving. With help from the Society of Hair Testing (SOHT), the co-host of the event, the meeting will also include a session on hair analysis.
